Mother's Day is approaching quickly

I hope everyone had a good day!!  I know the kiddos can be a handful from time to time.  Don't forget to have your students ready for mother's day.  I have some favorites I have in the works for my students to take home for gifts.  My favorite one is to make a Kissing book.   First you pick a color, we used pink.  Then take red lipstick and rub some onto their lips.  Then they are to kiss the pink slip of paper.  I have each kid do a couple.  Then add a cover page that says KISSING BOOK.  Then you can put by the kiss that says "Each kiss is redeemable for one kiss.  Expires: Never."  This is a cute one and the parents love it!!  The boys in my class are not to sure about the lipstick lol.  I have a youtube video to come very soon that will give an idea on how to put it together.  Have fun with it and continue to think outside the box!!  If anyone has any ideas they use in their classroom please share with us.

English Language Learners

I have recently figured out that to be an early childhood teacher takes ALOT of work.  Today I want to talk about kids in your classroom that does not speak english.  They truely have a hard time in the classroom!!  So lets talk today about ways we can help them in the classroom.  Some fun ideas to include that are crucial to them learning would be to have books, dress up clothes, and even other items that are from their culture.  One I know I am guilty of is having books in their language in the book center.  Also, a very important one to start to implement is having your alphabet that is on the wall in their language also.  Hard you say?  I say no.  It is very simple really.  You find words in the spanish language that starts with the same letter as the letter in English.  For example; for the letter E you would go with elephant because in spanish it is elefante.  At this time we have the spanish/english set for sale.  Are there other languages that anyone would need other than spanish?
